And he said to them, “When you pray, say:
“Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come. (Luke 11:2 ESV)
Besides the fact that Jesus instructs us to come boldy but not like a bull in a china shop - showing the proper reverence for God, these first two statements remind us of something: It's not all about me. It's about HIM. This is a loving but respectful conversation with a real and living God, but it begins by saying: "You come first. You were here first. You have first place. You know what is best. Your will and way is THE way to go. It's all about you, Lord." Today, when we pray (and we should), let's remember Who we are talking to and give Him first place.
