In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.(Luke 12:1-3 ESV)
One of the things that Jesus consistently demonstrated was his ability to know what his disciples were whispering, and even more impressive, what individuals were saying in their minds. He knows it all. He hears it all - our hidden conversations, gossip, whisperings, even thoughts, AND the motives and evil intentions behind them. So, knowing that He knows it all and hears it all is a two-sided coin. It is comforting to know He hears every prayer, even when we don't know how to express it, but it is also very convicting to know He hears every vile thing in our hearts, while we attempt to look so clean on the outside. We need to just come clean with God.
