Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; 4 and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. (Matthew 2)
Okay... I'm not quite ready to let go of "Christmas Break" yet. Today is the last trace we will have for another year. The visit of the Magi pretty well wraps up the celebration of Advent. They came before a king looking for the King. That king was about as ready to give up and in to another king as I am to break being over. We do not submit easily. But the reality is: Christ has come, and He is King. The ultimate take-away is how well we will submit to and worship this King. May we not be drug away kicking, screaming and complaining. May we lovingly and willingly receive and follow our King and surrender our "kingdoms."
