13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. (Colossians 2)
Take these words to church with you today - not the first verse, or the second, but the third verse woke me up this morning:
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul.
Indeed that is something to praise the Lord about today. Christ nailed it to the cross - that whole burden of sin we were carrying around. What a relief! What forgiveness! What love and mercy! It's enough to make you sing: "It is Well with My Soul."
