11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (II Thessalonians 1)
Paul loved and even liked this church. He cared about them and prayed for them. His prayer is precise and to the point. He wanted them to walk worthy of their calling in Christ; his wish was that their work for God would prosper, and his ultimate goal was that they live as worship to lift the name of Jesus high. He asked God that everyone could see from them that Jesus is Lord. He wanted the grace of God to shine through them. What a prayer to ask for ourselves, our family and church family, and the body of Christ as a whole: "May my life be all You intend; may Your power bring about what You want; may I depend upon Your grace to see me through; and may Christ be shown as my Savior and Lord,"
