A Friday Kind of Verse...

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12)
I woke up with Mercy Me's "Almost Home" on my mind.  Getting up wasn't easy. Short nights. Long weeks. Now it's Friday.  Our temptation is to drag through it.  But that ought not be our mindset towards our day, our week, our year or our lives.  Keep running. Don't lose heart. Look to Jesus (notice the emphasis on His humanity in running this race).  Nothing was going to get in His way, hold Him back, or trip Him up.  May we have that renewed interest, energy, and joy as we finish our day, our week - whatever phase of life we are in - today.
