Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
3 Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
4 For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation.
Here is yet another reference to singing a new song, to changing our tune. It is a song sung in stereo, with once channel chanting about the Creator, while the other proclaiming His greatness as King. It is a song where everyone is involved, including instruments and dancing. The Lord is watching with pleasure as we sing and dance before Him. Why? Because the focus is not on us and how great or beautiful we are, but on Him, the beauty He creates, and how Great He is. It is a picture of wonderful celebration. May we rejoice in Him today.
