I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(Ephesians 4:1-3 ESV)
Paul loves long sentences. This is actually not one of his longer ones, but it is full of powerful truth for us to apply to life. In the middle of this one, at the center, is this phrase "with all humility." As we live the life Christ calls on us to live, the way to interact with those around us is humility - having a lowliness of mind that sees ourselves in proper perspective - as important enough for Him to show His love, yet not more important than those around us. May we have enough confidence in our relationship with Christ today that we see no need to put down those around us to make ourselves feel better.
