By wisdom a house is built,
and by understanding it is established;
by knowledge the rooms are filled
with all precious and pleasant riches.
A wise man is full of strength,
and a man of knowledge enhances his might,
for by wise guidance you can wage your war,
and in abundance of counselors there is victory.
Wisdom is too high for a fool;
in the gate he does not open his mouth.
(Proverbs 24:3-7 ESV)
The house here is one's life, much like Jesus' parable of the wise man building his house on the Rock. Wisdom begins when we choose to trust in God and His Word, and continues as we make decisions based upon that faith and knowledge, under the guidance of His Holy Spirit. Such a foundation makes all the difference in what our house looks like, how stable it is, and how it holds in the times of storm. May we build wisely today.
