Getting to Know Christ by Name #13: Christ

II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 

The choice name for the Son of God in scripture is CHRIST: "A King who will be sent by God to save the Jews. A Person Who is expected to save people from a very bad situation."*  The term is Greek, used to translate the Hebrew Messiah - not only the word, but the picture.  Indeed Jesus Christ was not sent by God only to send the Jews, but all who would believe in Him.  God sent His Son for you and me, to bring us back into relationship with Him, and through Him to reconcile us to one another.  Praise God for Christ!
