Promises...

"For surely O Lord, you bless the righteous;
You surround them with your favor as with a shield."
Psalm 5:12
The time between Jesus' resurrection and ascension were filled with explanations, instructions and promises. Most of these promises were reminders of what He had said before, but He made it clear that certain things would happen. Over the next few weeks we will look at some simple promises of God.  In Psalm 5, David was, as often was the case, on the run from his enemies who were out to destroy him.  He was crying out to God in worship, trusing in Him to be his shield, his defense, his protector.  Today we live in a scary world, where many are afraid.  Fear not. Trust in Him. He will defend you, surround you on every side, and hold up a shield against the Enemy.
