6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2)
Paul had high hopes for these believers to whom he was writing. They had trusted in Christ and begun to grow in their faith. He had heard they were doing well. But there were some things he had concerns about. Were they living life by faith in Christ? Were the just doing right things, or were they allowing Christ to live through them? Walk in Him; continue to trust in Him; live thankfully for what He has done, is doing, and promises to do. Don't start trusting in yourself. If you have trusted Christ as Savior and Lord, keep on trusting Him. He did not pull us out of sin to live a good, moral life on our own; He plants us in Himself, so we will grow and bring God glory, not for people to be amazed by who we are.
