39 And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect. (Hebrews 11)
Finishing what he began in v. 1, the preacher tells us that none of these saw what has now been seen: Christ, the fullness of God in the flesh, and God's great plan of salvation provided to all who believe. Their awesome display of faith-without-seeing should spur us on to continue on, to look forward in hope, and to endure whatever may come today, and tomorrow, and until He returns. May we be so challenged today.
