31 By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. (Hebrews 11)
This is an account with which many have struggled: How could God use such a person? How could she be "exalted" as a person of faith? She was part of the "welcoming committee" to Jericho - in a bad kind of way. But she chose a good way to welcome God's people and plan: believing that the God of Israel could and should be victorious over evil. We are not told what kind of personal transformation did or did not take place in her life, but she welcomed change - a change that would modify her world forever. May we not be so worried about "her", that we ignore the transformation God can and will make in our lives and our world when we trust Him.
