Faith: It's NOT What You've Done...

22 By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, made mention of the exodus of the Israelites and gave directions concerning his bones. (Hebrews 11)
Like with Jacob, the sole statement about Joseph concerns his last act: blessing the next generation. Here was a man who had "saved the world" with his wisdom.  His family survived because of his actions and his mercy toward them. He had "climbed the ladder" to second in command, but that was not his focus. He did not look back on his accomplishments and contributions, but forward to a greater deliverance God would accomplish.  "You're going to have to move these old bones of mine." For all the greatness of his life, he looked forward in faith to things greater still.  Are you always looking back? Or in hope and faith looking foward?
