30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days. (Hebrews 11)
Standing alone this verse sounds confusing: Did the walls have faith? Were they falling down in worship before God? Actually, it follows right after a verse which speaks of the faith of God's people crossing through the Red Sea. They did not have faith to keep crossing over into the Promised Land; the next generation did. They kept moving, kept circling, kept trusting and obeying. Sometimes I look at our generation and become sad at the lack of legacy we are leaving, but often I look at this upcoming generation and have great hope, and faith, that they will be the one to keep moving foward and see God do greater things. May that be.
