Speaking Worldese...

1 John 4:5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 
Listen, really listen to what is being said.  In an age of mega-information, we need to have a finer filter than ever to discern truth.  Everyone around us is speaking "worldese"... the language of this world. Their words make no sense, because they are blinded to the truth.  At times we can feel left out, stupid, doubting ourselves, wondering if maybe we need to be more like them.  But this world is not our home; we do not speak the same language if we are in Christ.  And the language of Christ does not make sense to those in darkness. We indeed are involved in cross-cultural evangelism even in our own country.  May we be aware enough of what they are saying to discern the error, and grounded enough in the truth to respond lovingly with it.
