1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
John has been building a case for the characteristics of true believers. One of the three main characteristics is love for fellow believers. He comes back to this them, giving three reasons we should do so. First and foremost, those who are born of God, His children, should resemble Him, should reflect His characteristics. It is a trait we inherit from Him. It reveals our relationship.
