1 John 3:9-10 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
One of the most memorable experiences of my life has been to have an African-American Pastor sing a song of blessing over me called "Evidence". God wants us to live lives that bear evidence to the fact that we are His seed, His children, His servants. If our lives prove otherwise, through disobedience or a lack of love towards fellow believers, then evidence is lacking, and we are to not be given assurance, and we are not to be listened to. We should not try to fool ourselves or others. May we leave behind today lots of evidence that we are His.
