1 John 4:14-16 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
In Christ the love of God and our faith in Christ intersect. When we come to know and believe that God truly loves us, as demonstrated by Christ dying for us, then we come to know Him in this way that makes us calm and confident. So confident in fact, that we are willing to love the way He does - in sacrificial service, knowing that if we "stick our heads out", making ourselves vulnerable, we are not doing anything He has not already done. We are close enough to Him that we trust Him, knowing how much He loves us. Our faith and love feed one another as we go further and further in our walk with Him.
