Wisdom Literature...

2 Timothy 3:14-15 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
In theological circles we often talk about the Old Testament "Widsom Literature", like Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, etc.  But Paul is talking about much more here. He is talking about all of Scripture, where we find the story of God, and the salvation he offers.  We need to revisit what we think we know so well, too well, for our own good.  The "stories" of our youth are a part of "The Story" God is telling, and in them we have His Wisdom shared - a wisdom we desperately need.  Those basic lessons of faith, trust, obedience and worship form the foundation for living wisely.  Don't forget them and leave them behind.
