Offended

Ephesians 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
I believe the Holy Spirit is often hurt, offended by the way we treat Him - as if He is not a person, as if He is not even "in the room".  The way we talk and the way we act must surely make Him feel that way.  As followers of Christ, He is within, and He has a reason to be in our lives; He is here to help us in the transformation process to become more like Christ.  But we often go through our daily lives like He isn't even here, and like we could care less what He thinks.  He is real. He is a Person. He is Holy God.  He is offended and grieved by our ignoring Him and not asking for his opinion or help.  Forgive us, Holy Spirit.  Let us listen; let us learn; let us live by your power.
