Genesis 2:18, 22, 24 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
When God created the earth, every living thing on, in, and around it, and capped His creation with Mankind, He did not stop there. He created relational institutions within which Mankind could thrive and live. First, He created Marriage. Like everything God says and creates, these relational institutions bear the mark of the Creator; they reflect His character. So, when we decide we do not like the way He made them, we are messing with God Himself; we are rejecting Him. God knew what He was doing; He knows us better than we know ourselves; His rules are righteous and good. Let us enjoy the life He has given us, and the love He offers to us, in marriage and family, His way.
