John 6:68-69 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”
Following Jesus the way His disciples did. How do we do that? Part of it is paying close attention to what He says. They were hanging on every word. Why should we be any different? Since He is the Word revealed, part of our discipleship, our following after Him must be daily looking at His words, and all of God's words for instruction, challenge, and a commitment to change accordingly. When Peter made this statement, many had made a conscious choice to NOT follow Jesus any more - to stop listening to Him. Might we even say that the choice to stop listening to Jesus is a decision to not follow Him, to not be His disciple?
