Psalm 66:1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
2 sing the glory of his name;
give to him glorious praise!
3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
4 All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
they sing praises to your name.” Selah
Psalm 67:5 Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you!
6 The earth has yielded its increase;
God, our God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us;
let all the ends of the earth fear him!
Above we find the opening verses of Psalm 66 and closing verses of Psalm 67. The psalmist begins by calling the whole world to praise his awesome God. He then reminds his people of God's deliverance from Egypt through the sea, His provision in the promised land, His protection from their enemies, and His answering their prayers. He then begins Psalm 67 with a heartfelt prayer that God would bless the nations through blessing them. The result of our praise is to draw others to praise Him too.
