The Story of Satisfaction

Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty,
    and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

(Psalm 107:4-9)
As noted yesterday, the Psalms calls on God's people to "Tell Your story" - to let others know what God has done for you, pointing out His great Glory.  Obviously this paragraph has to do with the wilderness wanderings, while the people of Israel waited to enter the promised land.  Amazingly and miraculously God provided food and water, clothes that did not wear out, and safety, until the time when they could settle in the land.  Telling the story means giving thanks for the things we often take for granted.  This story also involved a lot of complaining and murmuring on part of the people, until they learned to be satisfied with what God supplied, and lived in hope of receiving His promise.  The question is: "Have I learned to be Satisfied?" with what God supplies, with the future He has for more, with the love He shows me from day to day? Tell His Story.
