If your eyes are open, love...

1 John 4:20-21 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
After seven simple words that should summarize it all, John speaks to our "seeing is believing" mentality.  If we truly love God, Who we cannot see, and He commands us to love one another, who we can see, as the way we can love Him back, then that is what we should. do.  And it isn't that hard to see who and how we should love.  All we need to do is open our eyes.  The thrust of the verb is "keep on seeing".  God places in our lives and our paths daily those for whom we should show His love: our family, fellow believers, and a world of people suffering under the curse of sin. It's not that hard - we just need to open our eyes.
