Don't be deceived!

2 John 1:7-8 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
John puts his warning against false teachers primarily where it belongs first - us as believers.  We are the ones that need to be on watch.  Communication involves both the sender and receiver, and we can be sure the senders will not shut up.  They will also be many.  Therefore, we should set a guard, a filter on our end to not receive the message.  Think of it as spiritual call blocking.  Whenever we entertain the notion that Christ is less than fully God, come in the flesh, sinless Creator and Judge, we are setting ourselves up to lose blessings, privileges and rewards God has planned for us.  And the ones we have most to blame are ourselves.  So today, let's watch ourselves!
