Confidence toward Christ

1 John 5:13-15 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
This truly is the climax toward which John has been writing this letter.  He wants us to experience the confident living that Christ intended for His Church.  Confidence that we are in a relationship with the true and living God.  Confidence that since we know Him, we can come to Him at any time with any thing and He hears us and will answer us.  Such a confidence shows itself in bold witness, bold praying, and bold living.  May we live life today boldly in Christ - not arrogantly or self-righteously, but confidently speaking, deciding, trusting.
