1 John 5:1-3 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
When one is born again, everything changes. We are able to see Christ for Who He really is. We love others because we comprehend God's love for us and want to be like Him as His children. And we want to obey His commands; we do not see them as a burden, but a blessing. We are not "missing out" on anything; we are living in freedom from slavery to sin. When we understand what Christ has done for us, it all comes together.
