Throughout this book, and especially this chapter, Jeremiah describes himself as one greatly afflicted, mourning, and even bitter, due to his continued experience of suffering and grief. He has called out to God, but it seems like He is not listening. So what does He cling to? The very character of God, Who Jeremiah knows Him to be, but does not always "feel" Him to be. Hope in the storm, rest in the uncertainty, peace during inner turmoil. Let's remind ourselves of Who He really is...
