Galatians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Paul begins a very difficult letter on a very positive note - pointing to Christ. In Him we have what we need: Grace and Peace. Grace reminds us that in Him we are able to do what we cannot do on our own: be saved, stand before God, live another day in the chaos around us. Peace reminds us of the promises Christ gave that whatever goes on out there, all can be well within between us and God, and with ourselves. Christ did this back when, on the Cross, and through His resurrection and ascension. Right now, He has given us this host of spiritual blessings: grace, mercy, power, peace, His Holy Spirit. Looking ahead, we have the hope of God's glory shining forever and ever. Jesus has it covered: past, present and future.
