1 Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
These people lived in a promiscuous society much like ours. They lived for the moment, for pleasure, for outward appearances. They acted as if their sin would wash off from the outside, with no regard for WHO was living inside. For us today it is ditto: sensual society, self-fulfillment, looks mean everything. Paul's plea? Flee! Run from it to what is important: living to glorify God. That is where the Spirit will lead you. That is what will fulfill and give joy; there is the peace that satisfies - in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
