When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. (Acts 2:1 ESV)
Ignoring the pesky chapter break between Acts 1 & 2, it flows that the Apostles and other believers were continuing to pray together, and take little steps of obedience as the Lord led and answered their prayers. This "set them up" for the next big thing - not just the receiving of the promised Holy Spirit, but also the reward of prayerfully waiting - having God use them in a recognizable way. This is the way, the only way, to be ready for what God has for us - to patiently and prayerfully pray, trust and obey..
