His Steadfast Love Endures Forever!

 

Psalm 136:
23 It is he who remembered us in our low estate,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
24 and rescued us from our foes,
    for his steadfast love endures forever;
25 he who gives food to all flesh,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven,
    for his steadfast love endures forever.

The psalmist begins and ends with this call to give thanks to God for His steadfast love. He goes through a brief history of God's provision and deliverance to prove that not only is God the only One Who can do these things, but that He is the only One who consistently does them. He is the One and Only, the great Lover of His people, who sticks it out, even when we are often so stubborn.  May we give thanks to Him today at home and with His people.
