First, Laura spent a number of years as our Recording Secretary, and as a member of our Publicity Team. So when it came time for the church to hire a secretary, it was a smooth transition, and an answer to one of her childhood dreams. She has now served for many years doing whatever needs to be done for whatever ministry it is, and never knows what she will walk into on Monday morning. So, cut her a break; she is not the complaint department or a professional counselor if I happen to not be in, though she often serves that way too!
Romans 16:1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church... 2 that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well
