Even Though...

Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
(II Corinthians 12)
Paul's life was one of big ups and downs. He had the privilege of being Billy Graham in the big arena, starting churches, and leading many to Christ. He also had times of deep struggle and pain, with physical ailments, persecution and abuse, and the frustration of churches and their problems. But he learned what we all can and must - that even in the midst of these, God is to be trusted and praised. He will take us through the storm, not away from it; He will MAKE a way of escape, not TAKE us out of it.  May we learn to trust Him more today:
