Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Paul is praying here for those who are weak in faith. His whole emphasis in chapters 12 through 15 has been thinking about others in the body, and he wants to give those who are struggling in any way a blessing, a prayer to cling to - what he is praying for them. He is praying that the Holy Spirit will fill all the voids - fill them with joy, peace, and faith - so there is no emptiness. The net result will be that the God of hope will fill us so much that we too live in hope - His characteristic becomes ours. He wants to replace our emptiness with hope. What a prayer promise to pray and claim. May God renew our minds and fill our hearts with His hope today.
