Exodus 7:1 And the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go out of his land. 3 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, 4 Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment. 5 The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord...
We are rightly taken back when we see God's statement that He had made Moses "like God to Pharoah," but it was true in the sense that Moses was speaking on God's behalf, telling Aaron what he should say. God had a message loud and clear, and it wasn't just that Pharoah was to let His people go worship Him. The ultimate message for Israel and Pharoah was the He is Lord over all. God has spoke to us first that we will fully believe and trust that, then that through how we live and what we say others will believe it also. Are we living like God is Lord, has spoken to us, and wants to speak through us?
