The Older your eyes, the more you can see...

Judah, your brothers shall praise you;
    your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies;
    your father's sons shall bow down before you.
Judah is a lion's cub;
    from the prey, my son, you have gone up.
He stooped down; he crouched as a lion
    and as a lioness; who dares rouse him?
10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
    nor the ruler's staff from between his feet,
until tribute comes to him;
    and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
11 Binding his foal to the vine
    and his donkey's colt to the choice vine,
he has washed his garments in wine
    and his vesture in the blood of grapes.
12 His eyes are darker than wine,
    and his teeth whiter than milk.

(Genesis 49)
Jacob (Israel) was on his deathbed, giving blessings to his sons before he passed.  As he did, he had much more to say about Judah than his other sons. Intertwined with his blessings are glimpses of the distant future, when one from the line of Judah, the Lion of Judah would come to rule the earth - not just the people of Israel, but all the earth. Jacob could see signs of who the Savior would be: He would ride a donkey. His garments would be washed in blood. He will hold the scepter of the king.  All will bow down before Him.  The older you get, are your spiritual eyes getting better? Do you understand the coming of Christ more? Do all the pieces fit together? Can you see you need Him now more than ever?
