14 The Lord God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
(Genesis 3)
I am not a big arcade person. I don't like all the noise. But there are a few games I can actually enjoy: ones where you take a malet of some sort and bash ugly heads when they pop up. Maybe it's because of this event, after the Fall, when God promised Satan that some day the Son of Man would come to pay him back for deceiving the woman and man into giving in to sin and rebellion. There is some sort of sweet revenge in bashing that head back down. It is not obvious in the soft, mellow nativity scene we are so accustomed to, but it is there: Christ coming to bash the head of the liar, deceiver, and falling false ruler of this world. Come, Lord Jesus.
