When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.2 And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” 3 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” (Matthew 8)
Here is this man whose life was in ruins. He had lost his health and social standing, at had no hope for improvement. His only hope was if God, in the person of Christ, chose to intervene. Yet he does not "demand" his own way. He asks: "If You will." Jesus wills, and does. Then He sends the man as living proof, to ask them: "Do you want what God wants?" The man did not need to say a word. His change in life through Christ said it all. He was willing to let Christ change him; are you willing?
