Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Galatians 5:19-21 ESV)
At first glance, a "good" person might say "Of course, a Christian would NEVER do that!" But then we get to the middle of the verse, and we slow down to those things that may not seem so blatant, until we remember that these things are contrary to the presence of the Holy Spirit(are are all these things), working against the unity of the bond of peace. And then Paul slips in this disclaimer: "and things like these." It is by no means an exhaustive list. Anything that wreaks of sin and self, that controls us instead of the Spirit, has no part in our lives or in the church. They are not only "no-brainers", they are "no-filled-with-the-Spiriters". Let's live like Kingdom citizens today.
