Why do you do what you do?

II CORINTHIANS 9:6,7: The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
When we were in West Virginia last week, we all spent long, hot days working hard in what we were doing.  Why? What motivated us? Why do we do whatever we do "for the Lord?"  Whatever we give - our time, resources, energy - do we give it voluntarily, lovingly, cheerfully, out of gratitude for Who He is and what He has done for us?  Or do we do it for brownie points, to absolve our guilt, or "because we have to?" God LOVES a cheerful giver. That's the point; that's what He's looking for.
