I Kings 16:23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Tell of his salvation from day to day.
24 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and he is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
27 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and joy are in his place.
As we saw yesterday, one of David's first orders of business was to bring the Ark of the Covenant to the Tabernacle in Jerusalem. When he did so, there was a great celebration. There was a cause to sing! Being the great songwriter he was, David wrote and sang this song. Above is only one of the verses, but it gives a glimpse of the theme: God is worthy to be praised by all men - especially His people. He is the real, true, and living God, who does great things. We should not be able to keep ourselves from singing. What holds you back from singing? Nothing should, no matter what kind of singing voice you have. Sing to the Lord!
