21 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. (Matthew 18)
Not even in the ballpark. That was Jesus' response to Peter, and to us, as we look for loopholes on forgiving others. But what else would we expect from God, Whose forgiveness toward us is so overwhelming. His grace is also overflowing to and through us, enabling us to do what often seems impossible: forgive. It is that important, for us, the one we believe has wronged us, and for the Glory of God. There is power in forgiveness which we forfeit when we refuse to give it. Who do you think you could never forgive? Ask God about that, and listen to Him explain how, and why, it can be done.
