Growing up through the Grinder of Life.

Luke 2:40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.
What a brief, single statement to describe the majority of Christ's life on earth. He grew, gained wisdom, and God was with Him.  Sometimes life seems like such a grind - day after day, year after year. Are we getting anywhere, going anywhere?  Are we getting weaker, more foolish, farther from God? Imagine a thirty year direct run of gaining momentum, getting wiser, drawing closer to God.  Now look ahead, to the new year.  No rash resolutions. Not even any gainable goals (gainable might just be my first made-up word of the year...). Just a commitment to the process of Growing through the grind of daily life. - allowing God to use every day, every event, every struggle, to draw me closer and teach me something. And being thankful for it. Christ was tempted, became exhausted, experienced frustration - but He kept on growing. Today, as you look in the mirror, say one thing: "grow up." Let the growing begin.
